Journalists who were hoping for a big story from Randy Abbey were left disappointed after the GFA Executive Council member failed to confirm or deny his interest in the vacant vice presidential post.

Randy Abbey, who is regarded as the most experienced member of the newly constituted GFA Executive Council has emerged as a leading candidate for the position.

Rumours have been rife that the former GFA spokesperson is interested in the position and has been lobbying the other members to vote for him to be Kurt Okraku’s deputy.

Unlike Tony Aubynn and Sammy Anim who have publicly declared their interest in the post, Randy has maintained a loud silence on the topic.

On Tuesday, Randy Abbey joined three other Executive Council members to receive a donation on behalf of the Black Stars and the question was posed to him.

The ace broadcaster gave a coyish answer to the disappointment of the pressmen.

Journalist: By Wednesday, we should know the vice president of the FA, is Randy Abbey in the fray? Randy: By Wednesday, we will find out.

Journalist: Are you in the fray? Randy: By Wednesday, we will find out.

Journalists: Are you interested in it? Randy: By Wednesday, we will find out.

The voting on Wednesday is expected to be between Randy Abbey, Tony Aubynn and Mark Addo.
