A student of Adanwomase Senior High School in the Ashanti Region has been sentenced to 15 imprisonment for robbing a teacher.

According to the prosecution, on March 4, 2024, 18-year-old Gabriel Osei Kwame attacked Matilda Boatema, a teacher at Gyaman Pensan Senior High School, near her house at Adanwomase.

He assaulted her with a knife and robbed her of her Infinix Hot 9 smartphone valued at GH¢700, GH¢570 cash, some documents, as well as rice and stew.

The victim reported the robbery to the Asonomaso police, who immediately began investigations at the scene.

Preliminary investigations recovered Gabriel’s empty bag abandoned in a nearby bush.

However, on March 25, Matilda spotted Gabriel in a friend’s company, leading to his arrest.
