The self-acclaimed traditional ruler allegedly involved in the shooting of a military officer over a land dispute at Millennium City near Kasoa has been remanded in police custody.
The accused, Benlord Ababio, aka Nana Barima Ababio, was hauled before the Achimota District Court on Friday, May 3, 2024.
The accused, initially identified as a National Security operative, has to answer to a charge of murder.
The facts before the court indicate that on April 30, 2024, Lance Corporal Michael Danso (deceased) and his colleagues visited the Millennium City Police Station to report a trespass case.
The accused allegedly assaulted and fatally shot Lance Corporal Danso while he was seated in a Toyota Rav4 vehicle.
Following the shooting, the accused was promptly disarmed and apprehended for further investigation.
The case has been adjourned to May 16 for continuation.
