Tanzanian giants Simba SC closing in on Medeama forward Derrick Fordjour

Medeama forward Derrick Fordjour could depart the club at the end of the season to join Tanzanian giants Simba SC.

The 21-year-old has been impressive since joining the Yellow and Mauve in 2022. He has become a subject of interest for several teams across the African continent including fellow Tanzanian club, Young Africans due to his swashbuckling performance.

Additionally, clubs from Northern Africa are closely monitoring the situation and are poised to make offers in the coming weeks.

However, according to reports, negotiations between Msimbazi Lions and the Ghana Premier League champions are far advanced and could seal a move to Tanzanian ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Fordjour joined Medeama on a four-year deal back in 2022 and has since showcased glimpses of top performance, helping the club to annex their first Premier League title last season.

During the 2022/23 season, the forward racked up two goals and provided five assists in 27 appearances for the Yellow and Mauve.

He also made a huge impact during the CAF Champions League campaign, helping his side to reach the group stage of the competition. He featured in all six games for the club and made a good account of himself despite failing to progress from their group.

This season, the 21-year-old has already made 19 appearances in the Ghanaian top division, netting once and contributing a couple of assists.
