Three persons have been arrested for attacking and mercilessly beating a 16-year-old boy over a manhood theft allegation at Dansoman Shiabu in the Greater Accra Region.

The victim, Bright Lartey, according to his parents is currently battling for his life after sustaining severe fractures in his left hand and a head injury from the attack.

Ebenezer Lartey, the father of the victim who announced the unfortunate incident revealed that the arrested suspects raised a false alarm concerning his son, allegedly stealing someone’s manhood, and that almost cost his son’s life.

“I wonder why anybody would brutalize such a person in this manner. We left home with GH₵1,600 on Monday when leaving for the hospital and didn’t even return with a pesewa. We’re spending a lot of money because if we don’t, we can’t save the boy’s life,” he lamented.

He further narrated that, his son was accused of stealing an unknown person’s manhood after he asked for money to buy water.

He added that Bright, whose speech is impaired could not explain himself before the angry crew launched an attack on him.

The suspects are in custody at the Dansoman Police Station, pending a court appearance.

“The Commander has assured us he will do everything possible to process them to court to face justice,” he added in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Adom FM.

Meanwhile, Mr. Lartey is appealing to the public to come to their aid in saving Bright’s life because they are running low on funds.

This new case of alleged missing genitals at Dansoman follows a similar false alarm at Kasoa in the Central Region.

In light of the sensational allegations, the police initiated investigations into the cases which led to the arrest of nine persons on April 7, 2024.

Police investigations, including medical examinations, disclosed that all the claims were false.

Currently, five have been put before court with three remanded into police custody and two granted bail.

The rest are on police inquiry bail and will soon be put before the court.
