Tinted Car Windows Unlawful In Ghana – DVLA

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has informed car owners with tinted windows to remove them as it violates road traffic regulations.

According to the DVLA, to ensure safe driving and reduce the risk of road traffic crashes, it is advising all road users to exercise extra caution when driving and crossing roads and, therefore, advises against using tinted glass, which can reduce the quality of vision, especially in dusty weather conditions.

It also reminded drivers that Regulation 67 (3) (4) of the Road Traffic Regulation L. I 2180 prohibits driving a motor vehicle with tinted windows and a front windscreen.

The Authority, in a statement, thus, noted that to ensure compliance, its Compliance and Enforcement Unit will conduct roadside checks to ensure that all safety measures are adhered to, including the removal of tint from vehicles.

    The joke of it ❗
Let them start from their v8’s
We are in a country where we practice a 4legs good and 2legs bad syndrome against each other.
Well, if tint causes accident, what about the potholes they have refused to fix ❓
What about the pedestrians who have refused to use the accustomed bridges for safety❓
Who’s responsible for all this, someone will sit down and look around to see which soft job is available and said I’m working.

Lol just a cursory look at the regulation referenced would tell you under what circumstances tinting is legal. It clearly exempts hearse, ambulances and vehicles authorized by the DVLA to use tinted windows or windscreen. Again any other vehicle may use tinted windows if the tint material used allows 70% light penetration and allows the occupants to see and be seen
Quintessentially Ghanaians don’t like reading, so they just switch to emotional and sentimental whimpering.
