Two Dead In Pragya-Kia Truck Crash

Two young men are reported to have tragically lost their lives in the morning of Thursday, February 23, 2023, when the tricycle (Pragya) they were travelling in collided with a Kia truck.

The crash is reported to have occurred at Amoah Nkwanta near Aboi Nkwanta in the Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region.

According to reports, the Pragya did a U-turn in the middle of the road, causing the Kia truck to ram into it.

The tricycle somersaulted, killing two on the spot out of the five people onboard. The three remaining were severely injured and were rushed to the Asankragwa Catholic Hospital for medical assessment.

Speaking to the media afterwards, Dr Augustine Konadu, a medic at the Asankragwa Catholic Hospital, said: “we were informed early this morning that some patients had been rushed to our emergency centre. When we came, they were bleeding profusely. One of them had internal bleeding, so I had to drain his blood. The other had a fractured leg and had already lost a lot of blood. The other had a head injury, but they are doing well.”
