Two Ghanaian referees to participate in AFCON Preparation Course
In a significant stride towards officiating excellence, Ghanaian referees Daniel Laryea and Kwasi Acheampong Brobbey have been selected to partake in the prestigious AFCON Preparation Course.
The two match officials will be enrolled in the training to be prepared for the 2023 AFCON.
The host nation for next year’s tournament, Cote d’Ivoire, will host the Preparation Course scheduled to commence on October 11 and end on October 16, 2023.
The selected match officials will undergo technical, theoretical, and physical examinations as part of the training.
CAF postponed this edition to January 13 – February 11 2024, because of weather concerns in Ivory Coast on July 3 2022, but keeping the name 2023 Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship purposes. This also meant that, for the first time in AFCON history, the event had to be shifted twice following the previous edition.
