Two perish in motor accident at Bimbilla

An accident involving two motorbikes on the Bimbilla-Nasamba road in the Northern Region has claimed the lives of two persons.

The incident occurred around 7 pm on Wednesday evening.

The bodies of the deceased have been conveyed to the Bimbilla hospital morgue.

One of the victims has been identified as the assemblyman for Nasamba, who, according to some residents, was a tailor who had just closed his shop and was on his way home when the accident occurred.

Accidents have become rampant in recent times.

On November 21, 2023, an accident involving a 207 Benz with registration number GR 1645 W and a rubbish compactor at the foot of the Galenku Hill at Ho Bankoe claimed the lives of 10 people.

This incident happened at about 4 pm when the mini-bus from Taviefe towards Ho ran into the heavy-duty truck ascending the hill in the opposite direction.

Also, on Sunday, November 19, 2023, six persons reportedly died following an accident that happened at Asanso near Asante Bekwai in the Ashanti Region.

Again, on Thursday, November 17, 2023, a DAF Cargo Truck with registration number GT-7459-U collided with a motorcycle at Offinso-Adukro in the Ashanti Region, killing one person on the spot and injuring many others.

The deceased was reportedly decapitated in the collision.
