The consumption of Ghana’s favourite local delicacy, Waakye, is going a notch higher this Saturday with the grand opening of Alhaji’s Wife, a world-class eatery in Accra.
Modelled on the operational efficiency of US food giant, MacDonald’s, the classy food joint is a drive-through restaurant complete with wi-fi connections and a host of cable TV for lovers of football.
Located at Spintex Community 18, Alhaji’s Wife is set up to allow clients to enjoy healthy food in an ambience that does not sacrifice your need to transact business or close that deal.

CEO of Alhaji’s Wife, Madam Rashida Saani Nasamu explained her motivation for the novel food joint.
“People want to eat good healthy food in a great atmosphere. If people can walk into KFC to buy chicken, then they can walk into Alhaji’s wife and buy our local delicacy, Waakye” she told theghanareport.com.
The strategic communications consultant made a case for stepping up the packaging of Ghana’s local foods to the status attained by foreign foods.
She said branding remains the critical key in achieving this, hence her motivation to leverage her experience in helping waakye-eating get a fresh new status.
Smartly dressed and professionally groomed waiters and bar attendants have been recruited for the new venture.
Madam Nasamu pointed out that her big food centre uses healthy cooking oil as one of its key ingredients in dishing out what is expected to be a sumptuous experience.
