The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
In a press release dated December 1, 2022, WAEC announced that the provisional results are only for candidates who sat for the examination in Ghana.
Students willing to check their results online are to visit the official website (www.waecgh.org) for all the details.
The statement also revealed that based on a directive from the Ghana Education Service (GES), the results of 8,486 candidates had not been uploaded online due to failure to return learning support materials supplied to them or either destroyed school properties and such candidates are to visit their various schools for their results.
A total of 422,883 candidates, comprising 203,753 males and 219,130 females from 977 different schools, sat for the 2022 WASSCE.
The number of candidates who registered but did not participate in the examination was 2,818 (0.67%).
Cancelled Results
WAEC further revealed that 3,845 candidates’ results were cancelled for sending foreign materials into the examination hall.
Again, the entire results of 518 candidates were cancelled for sending mobile phones into the examination hall.
Withheld Results
The entire results of 117 candidates have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into alleged cases of impersonation detected during the examination.
Moreover, the scripts of candidates from 179 schools in certain subjects are being scrutinised for reported cases of collusion.
