We are building Ghana not infrastructure -Bawumia

Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has said the Akufo-Addo  government is not merely building infrastructural projects but building Ghana.

He said this at a town hall meeting in Accra where he run through several of the more than 17,000 projects which he says the government has initiated.

The Vice-President was quick to add that the government has done more infrastructural projects with less money, unlike the previous Mahama administration.

Giving an example, he pointed out that the government is constructing four interchanges at nearly the same cost of one done by Mahama who is seeking a comeback to power.

It is barely six months to the 2020 general election and despite providing a historic free Senior High School policy, the Akufo-Addo led government is keen to also make gains in politics f social infrastructure.

“Infrastructure is a key electoral issue in Ghana’s politics” Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said at a Government Town Hall and Results Fair held at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences on Tuesday, August 18.

Over the past few weeks, President  Akufo-Addo has been touring the nation commissioning projects in water provisions and others while the Vice president is also presenting buses to schools.

Dr. Bawumia used the town hall meeting to list several projects under the government.

Here is a list of projects contained in his presentation.

He described the infrastructure record of the Akufo-Addo administration as “second to none, with verifiable data to back up my claim”

“The investment in infrastructure by the NPP government over the last three years has been massive. I dare say our investment in infrastructure, our infrastructure record, is second to none for any government in its first term under the Fourth Republic,” Dr. Bawumia noted

“about 17,334 individual projects have been started since January 2017. We have completed a total number of 8746 projects throughout the country. A further 8588 projects are at different stages of completion throughout the country.” he added
