Childlessness is almost a taboo in most Ghanaian homes, which has been a reason for many broken marriages.
Being famous and childless in Ghana is challenging as many are subjected to constant ridicule and trolling on social media.
One celebrity couple that has suffered this fate is TV personality Selly Galley and musician Praye Tiatia.
The actress has been abused for not conceiving after 16 years 0f marriage but reacting to the trolls and rumours, Praye Tiatia, born Steven Fiawoo, says they are not desperate for a child.
According to him, contrary to the rumors about his wife’s barrenness, Selly lost an eight-month pregnancy.
“We decided to keep it to ourselves because we thought it was not anyone’s business, and we are not desperate for a child,” he said.
The two tied the knot on the 26th of September, 2015.
Selly was on the Big Brother Africa season 8.
her husband Praye Tietia, is a hiplife star who was part of the musical trio Praye.
Selly is quoted to have said in an interview with graphic showbiz in April 2020 that “for now what I can do is to believe in God and hope that my Maker will make a way for me because I have done everything humanly possible to have a child. I cannot kill myself because I don’t have a child. God knows why it is so”.
