We were cheated -Yvonne Nelson shares journey to limelight

Actress Yvonne Nelson has described her journey in the movie industry as tough.

She said her colleagues and her did not have the best treatment from movie producers in the early days of their career.

“Producers took advantage of us; we were underpaid,” she lamented.

Recounting her struggle, the actress cum producer says her experience has made her a better producer who treats her actors right.

“To me as a producer I have learnt not to step on anyone’s toes and  to treat people better; to pay people, to feed my cast, my crew…so yeah it’s better with me. I don’t know about others but as a producer, I do my best. I don’t get investors, I fund my movies,” she noted.

Promoting her upcoming movie, The Men We Love, the leggy actress said, “the movie will premiere on Valentine’s Day, Monday, February 14, at Silver bird Cinemas at the Accra Mall at 7 pm”.

The Men We Love is a tale of four ladies; Maria, Samantha, Shantel and Michelle who  share their femininity, embitterment and craving for their psychological and emotional freedom.

It features an array of actors including Majid Michel, James Gardiner, veteran actress Eunice Banini, TikTok star; Jackline Mensah, Regina Van-Helvert, Comedian Hogan, Angela Bamford and Yvonne Nelson.

The rest are Nana Ansomah, Nana Made In China, Kweku Elliot and Sophia Kalorizos among others.
