Weekly Performance Of Ghanaian Players Abroad

Below is a weekly report on the performance of Ghanaian players abroad in their respective leagues across the globe in the ongoing 2021/22 football season.

 

ENGLAND

Jordan Ayew saw 85 minutes of action for Crystal Palace in their resounding 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Selhurst, winger Jeffrey Schlupp continue to remain sidelined due to injury.

Mohammed Salisu lasted the entire duration of the game for Southampton as they were held by West Ham United to a goalless draw at the St Mary’s Stadium.

Thomas Partey made a return from injury against Arsenal as they recorded their first win this season as they beat Norwich 1-0 at home.

Daniel Amartey was an unused substitute for Leicester City as they lost 1-0 to Manchester City at the King Power Stadium.

In English Championship, Baba Rahman and Andy Yiadom were in action for Reading in their 3-3 draw against QPR, Albert Adomah saw 19 minutes of action for QPR.

 

SPAIN

In La Liga, Joseph Aidoo made a brief appearance for Celta Vigo coming on in the 89th minute as they suffered a 5-2 defeat away to Real Madrid.

Iddrisu Baba lasted 72 minutes in Mallorca’s 2-0 defeat to Athletic Club.

In La Liga II, Samuel Obeng Gyabaa lasted 71 minutes in the game for Real Oviedo in their 2-0 win over FC Cartagena at home. Former Kotoko striker Dauda Mohammed came on for the visitors in the 58th minute.

 

FRANCE

In Ligue 1, Salis Abdul Samed was in action for Clermont in their 4-0 win over Paris SG, Alidu Seidu was on the bench for Clermont.

Kamaldeen Sulemana was introduced into the game on the 69th minute for Rennes in their 2-0 defeat away to Stade Reims.

Osman Bukari played 79 minutes for FC Nantes as they suffered a 0-2 home defeat to Nice.

Alexander Djiku played the full throttle for Strasbourg in their 3-1 away defeat to Olympique Lyon at the Groupama Stadium.

Gideon Mensah was in quarantine thus missed Bordeaux game against Lens.

In Ligue II, Ebenezer Assifiuah saw 68 minutes of action for Pau FC in their 2-1 win over Caen.

Emmanuel Ntim was in action for Valenciennes as they lost 2-1 to Quevilly-Rouen.

 

GERMANY

In Bundesliga, Hans Nunoo Sarpei was on the bench for Greuthur Furth in their 2-0 defeat to Wolfsburg.

Christopher Antwi-Adjei made a brief appearance for Bochum in the second half as they lost 3-1 to Hertha Berlin, Kevin-Prince Boateng saw 18 minutes of action for Hertha Berlin.

In Bundesliga II, Daniel Kofi Kyereh enjoyed full throttle for St Pauli over the weekend but lost narrowly to Hannover 96.

Braydon Marvin Manu came off the bench to play 27 minutes for Darmstadt as they lost 2-1 to Hansa Rostock.

 

ITALY

In Serie A, Alfred Duncan enjoyed 76 minutes of action in ACF Fiorentina’s crucial 1-2 away triumph over Atalanta in Bergamo.

Emmanuel Gyasi lasted 85 minutes in the game for Spezia in their 1-0 defeat to Udinese.

Caleb Ekuban saw 31 minutes of action for Genoa in their 3-2 win over Cagliari.

In Serie B, Abdallah Basit was on the bench for Benevento against Lecce

 

BELGIUM

Kamal Sowah registered an assist in the debut for Club Brugge as they won 3-0 against Oostende, David Atanga climbed off the bench to play 16 minutes for Oostende.

Francis Amuzu climbed off the bench to score for Anderlecht as they hammered KV Mechelen 7-2, Majeed Ashimeru made a brief appearance in the game for Anderlecht.

Isaac Nuhu saw 90 minutes of action for Eupen as they lost 1-0 to Antwerp.

 

BULGARIA

Bernard Tekpetey saw 75 minutes of action for Ludogorets in their 2-0 win over Cherno More, Elvis Manu was on target for the Bulgarian champions in that win.

 

CROATIA

Issah Abass and Prince Obeng Ampem featured in the game for Rijeka in their 2-1 win over Slaven Belupo.

 

DENMARK

Francis Abu and Maxwell Woledzi were in action for Nordsjaelland in their 2-0 defeat to Midtjylland.

In the First Division, Emmanuel Bio and David Martin climbed off the bench to play 13 minutes for Fremad Amager in their 3-1 win over Nykobing.

Frank Assinki played the full throttle for Koge as they lost 4-3 away to Jammerbugt.

 

FINLAND

Geoffrey Acheampong and Mohammed Adams were in action for Rovaniemi in their 1-0 win over Klubi 04, Baba Mensah was in action for Klobe 04.

Mohammed Abubakari saw 90 minutes of action for Mariehamn in their 2-1 win over Haka.

Edmund Arko-Mensah scored for Honka in their 3-1 win over KTP, Thomas Agyiri made a brief appearance for KTP in that game.

Eric Oteng saw 86 minutes of action for Ilves in their 1-0 win over Lahti.

Anthony Annan saw 76 minutes of action for Inter Turku in their 3-1 defeat to HJK.

 

ISRAEL

Godsway Donyoh saw 61 minutes of action for Maccabi Haifa in their 2-1 win over Sakhnin.

Montari Kamaheni played 72 minutes for Ashdod in their 3-1 defeat to Hapoel Tel Avivi.

Eugene Ansah scored for H.Beer Sheva in their 2-2 draw against Hapoel Hadera.

 

NORWAY

Isaac Twum saw 90 minutes of action for Mjondalen in their 4-0 defeat to Molde.

Salomon Owusu was an unused substitute in Odd BK’s draw against Bodo/Glimt.

 

POLAND

Yaw Yeboah played 90 minutes for Wisla in their 2-2 draw against Lechia Gdansk

 

SWEDEN

Malik Abubakari played 11 minutes for Malmo FF in their 1-1 draw against Norrkoping

Patrick Kpozo, Mensiro and Frank Arhin all featured in the game for Ostersunds as they lost 1-0 to Sirius

Sadat Karim climbed off the bench to play Halmstad in their 2-0 defeat to Goteborg, Thomas Boakye warmed the bench for Halmstad.

In the Superettan, Benjamin Acquah saw 11 minutes of action for Helsingborg in their 2-2 draw against AFC Eskilstuna

 

SWITZERLAND

In Super League, St Gallen goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi conceded five goals against Servette, Nuhu Musah was an unused substitute on the bench for St Gallen.

 

TURKEY

In the Super Lig, Bernard Mensah was on target for Kayserispor in their 2-0 victory over Kasimpasas alongside countryman Joseph Attamah Larweh who also enjoyed the full throttle of the game.

Haqi Osman played 19 minutes for Yeni Malatyaspor in their 3-0 defeat to Besiktas

Philip Awuku was involved in the game for Yeni Malatyaspor

Isaac Sackey was introduced in the 88th minute for Hatayspor in their 2-0 win over Rizespor.

 

USA

Harrison Afful was in action for Columbus Crew in their 1-0 defeat to Inter Miami, Skipper Jonathan Mensah was not in the squad.

Isaac Atanga played 83 minutes in FC Cincinnati’s 2-0 triumph over Toronto FC.

In the Championship, Rashid Tetteh saw 45 minutes of action for New Mexico in their 1-0 defeat to Austin Bold

Gershon Koffie saw 81 minutes of action for Indy Eleven in their 1-0 win over Sporting Kansas City, Mensah Kwamina saw 16 minutes of action for Sporting Kansas
