World Cup 2022: Meet all six players from Ghana, Uruguay squad that featured in 2010 clash

Ghana and Uruguay are scheduled to lock horns in a game that has been dubbed a do-or-die affair.

The Black Stars faced off with the Uruguayans in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in a game that ended with heartbreak for Africa.

In the game which was a quarter-final encounter, Ghana scored first through Sulley Muntari before the halftime break.

However, thanks to a second-half strike from Diego Forlan, Uruguay managed to draw level at the end of the 90 minutes to force the game into extra time.

Later in extra time, Uruguay striker Luis Suarez stopped a goal-bound attempt from Ghana with his hand.

While he would be sent off, Asamoah Gyan wasted the penalty awarded to the Black Stars.

Eventually, Ghana lost the penalty shootout as Uruguay sailed through to the semi-finals.

Tomorrow, Ghana meets Uruguay again in a final group H match of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

In a much-anticipated clash, six players who were part of the 2010 game are in line to feature.

For Ghana, only Andre Ayew is still part of the Black Stars team from the squad that played for the Black Stars in the heartbreaking game.

Meanwhile, five players including Diego Godin, Luis Suarez, Fernando Muslera, Martin Caceres, and Edinson Cavani are still part of the Uruguay team.

The cash between Ghana and Uruguay will kick off at 3pm on Today.
