‘You Will Be Called “Ashawo” When They Disagree With You’- Lydia Forson Replies Ladies Denigrating Yvonne Nelson

Ghanaian actress and social media influencer Lydia Forson has advised other ladies denigrating Yvonne Nelson to be careful as they could be victims of ill-mannered tags such as ‘Ashawo’ or ‘Street girl’ one day.

Her comment was in reaction to some ladies on social media tagging Yvonne Nelson as a prostitute based on how Sarkodie described her as someone who belongs to the ‘street’.

In admonishing ladies to always protect their fellows when such incidents happen, she tweeted, “I need women to understand that joining others to denigrate another woman will NOT protect you from same.

In the end, no matter how “well behaved” you are or dress, you too will be called “Ashawo” when they disagree with you because that’s their default tag”.

Sarkodie and Yvonne Nelson are trending in the entertainment space due to some secrets the latter revealed in her book titled, “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson”.

In the book, Yvonne Nelson disclosed that she had to abort a pregnancy that Sarkodie was responsible for in 2010 due to his unwillingness to take full responsibility for the pregnancy.

The award-winning rapper Sarkodie in a new diss track strongly criticized the actress for attempting to portray herself as a victim.

According to Sarkodie, even though the pregnancy occurred at the time he wasn’t prepared to have a child, he wanted Yvonne to keep the baby but she refused on grounds of being in school.

Sarkodie in the song went further to dare Yvonne to publicly disclose the names of other men she has been involved with, insinuating that she has a promiscuous nature.

He added that Yvonne is for the ‘streets’ and never pushed her for an abortion.

Moreover, he said although he keeps pushing her away, Yvonne Nelson always tries to get closer to him.
