A dilapidated school structure in the Sehwi Wiawso Municipality of the Western North Region has injured 10 out of 50 pupils after the building collapsed following a windstorm.

According to reports, the Kramokrom D/A Primary School structure collapsed on pupils in primary one to four.

The school authorities and some senior pupils rushed to pull their mates trapped under the rubble to safety.

The victims were sent to the Anyinabrim clinic for treatment, and subsequently, five were referred to Sehwi Asafo St. John of God Hospital.

An eyewitness, Ezekiel Armah, said the structure collapsed when academic work was ongoing.

He revealed the structure was old and had lost strength, so the slight wind, after rainfall, brought it down.

There has been no renovation after it was built despite it being one of the main schools in the district, he added.
