A tipper truck with registration number GT 8425-12 has run into a mechanic shop killing three apprentices on the spot at Akorabuokrom in the Atwima Mponua District of the Asanti Region.
According to an eyewitness, the tipper truck was traveling from Bibiani to Kumasi but upon reaching Akorabuokrom, the driver lost control of his wheels and crashed into a mechanic shop killing three apprentices on the spot. Four others are in critical condition.
He reportedly veered off the road and after running over a speed ramp, the truck unfortunately ended up inside the mechanic shop along the road.
The four that sustained serious injuries were reportedly rushed to the Nyinahin Government Hospital but were later referred to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment. Police have arrested the truck driver.
