A KIA Grandbird with registration number AP-1986-22 has collided with a trailer with registration number BF-2315-F103 resulting in the death of four people at Nkenkensu in the Offinso North District of the Ashanti Region.
Several others are also in critical condition and have been rushed to nearby health facilities for treatment.
According to an eyewitness, the accident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
The KIA Grandbird was heading towards Techiman while the trailer was going to Kumasi.
The eyewitness said he could count several lifeless bodies conveyed to hospitals by the ambulance service and other commercial vehicles.
He added that the driver of the KIA bus had been trapped in the car, which had overturned after the fatal accident.
It is unclear how the accident happened, but reports from the scene say it caused a gridlock.
Police personnel are currently there dealing with the traffic situation and clearing the mangled vehicles and the bodies from the road.
