Alleged food theft: Somé SHS assistant head, 3 others remanded

The Circuit Court at Tokor has remanded four staff members of the Somé Senior High School (SHS) at Agbozume in the Volta Region for allegedly stealing food items.

The accused include the assistant headmistress in charge of academics, the bursar, the matron, and the storekeeper of the school.

They were arrested after an alumnus of Somé SHS and an assembly member for Logove Electoral Area intercepted the bursar and matron as they departed the school premises on Friday, May 24, 2024.

Upon inspection, a stash of food items was discovered in both a bag and the car’s trunk.

The food items included tin tomatoes, mackerel, cleaning agents, and insecticide spray, all of which the matron had in her possession.
