An inferno has gutted the girls’ dormitory of Eremon Senior High School (SHS) in the Lawra municipality of the Upper West Region.
The fire on the night of Monday, February 6, has left over a hundred students stranded.
It took the intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service to prevent the fire from extending to other buildings on the campus.
Meanwhile, the cause of the fire is not immediately known.
This is the third of such outbreaks in two weeks after some students of the Wa Senior High Technical School were stranded after two fire outbreaks gutted parts of their main girls’ dormitory block in the same region.
The incident happened on the night of Sunday, January 22.
It destroyed five rooms and the belongings of the girls while leaving 14 of the students hospitalised.
The students reportedly suffered trauma after the fire incidents.
