GFA and FIFA join hands to launch Football for Schools Initiative in August

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has partnered with FIFA to introduce the FIFA Football for Schools project, set to kick off from the 10th to the 12th of August. The initiative aims to promote football in schools and enhance the overall development of the sport in Ghana.

As part of the program, selected Physical Education (PE) teachers from all regions in Ghana will undergo specialized training conducted by FIFA experts, who will act as Trainee Trainers.

These trained teachers will then assume the responsibility of training other PE teachers in their respective regions, cascading the knowledge gained to a wider audience.

The collaboration between the GFA and FIFA comes as part of the former’s commitment to advancing all aspects of the beautiful game within the country.

The positive outcome was a result of the Ghana Football Association’s application for the FIFA Football for Schools Programme, which received approval in accordance with FIFA’s guidelines.

The comprehensive documentation provided by the GFA underwent meticulous review by the FIFA Football for Schools administration, leading to the green light for implementation in Ghana.

Fatimata Sidibe, the Director of FIFA Football for Schools, conveyed the decision with enthusiasm, stating, “After a thorough review of the documentation provided, the FIFA Football for Schools administration has decided to approve your application to start implementing the programme in Ghana.”
