I wrote 80% of Mr. Drew’s ‘Case’ but he hasn’t paid me yet – Kuami Eugene

Talented highlife musician Kuami Eugene has revealed that he wrote about 80% of Mr. Drew’s trending ‘Case’ song but has not received any payment from him yet.

The ‘Open Gate’ hitmaker in an interview with blogger Naana Donkor Arthur in a TikTok Live conversation said he wrote the hook and parts of the second verse of the song.

“I wrote the entire hook and some parts of the second verse. I wrote like 80 percent of that song. In fact, before he came to record the song that hook and everything was already done, he listened to it and sang it”.

According to Kuami Eugene, he has been writing songs for some secular and gospel artists because he cannot sing all the songs he produces, especially when he notices a particular song fits the style of another artiste.

“It’s just a blessing that you write songs for people to sing even though I get paid for it. Drew didn’t do that [didn’t pay me] but we will talk about it later,” he said.

Lynx Entertainment signee added that the song has gained prominence now but there is an issue he needs to solve with Mr. Drew.

“I can actually make it a legal case but it is not necessary. We are brothers. I think he should see me so we talk about this”.

“I love peace, so me, Kaywa, him, whatever is going on, let’s get it fixed. He can send one split sheet and that will solve everything. I am saying this because he has seen my messages and has blue-ticked me as if he has not seen them but the song is doing well on the market,” he further stated.

He explained that the only parts of the song he didn’t write were Strongman and Sista Afia’s verses and Morphty’s verse on the remix.

Kuami Eugene is known for writing songs for Kuame Yogot, Keche, MzVee, and Joyce Blessing among other artists.
