Injured Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey to be sidelined until October

Ghana international Thomas Partey is reportedly set to be out of action for as many as six weeks following his latest injury.

His club, Arsenal on Sunday, announced that he would miss the super clash against Manchester United in the English Premier League.

In a short post on social media, the London-based club said Thomas Partey has suffered a groin injury.

Despite missing the highly-rated midfielder, Arsenal managed to beat Manchester United 3-1 at the end of the contest.

According to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, the injury of the Black Stars midfielder does not look good.

“It doesn’t look good. We need some more tests. I believe he’ll be out for a few weeks,” said Mikel Arteta after the game on Sunday.

Today reports coming in indicate that Thomas Partey could be sidelined for up to six weeks.

He is expected to miss several games including Arsenal’s matches against Everton, Tottenham, Bournemouth, and Manchester City alongside PSV Eindhoven and Lens in the UEFA Champions League.

He would be back in October hopefully.

Due to his injury, Thomas Partey is not part of the Ghana squad for the 2023 AFCON qualifier against the Central African Republic.
