The lifeless body of an unidentified man believed to be in his late 30s has been found in stagnant water at Gomoa Akotsi’s new site in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The deceased was found Thursday morning, June 8, 2023, by a resident who was on her way to the farm.
He was found dead in the stream bare-chested while wearing only shorts and boxers.
An initial investigation conducted on the lifeless body did not reveal any sign of physical assault.
The reason for the death is unknown, but residents suspect that he ended up in the stream accidentally or he was murdered elsewhere and deposited in the stagnant water.
The incident was reported to the Gomoa Akotsi Police, following which police officers went to the scene of the incident and conveyed the body to the Winneba Specialist and Trauma Hospital Mortuary.
Meanwhile, police are calling on members of the public who have a family member missing to go for identification of the body.
Police have since commenced an investigation.
