Mavis Asante calls for special prayers for gospel artistes

Gospel artistes often use their music to inspire, uplift and spread positive messages to their listeners.

However, behind the scenes, these artistes experience a range of personal and professional difficulties that can take a toll on their well-being.

It is for this reason that gospel singer, Mavis Asante is calling for special prayers for herself and colleagues since they face constant pressures that they cannot tell the world.

“I am humbly appealing to you all to keep gospel artistes in your prayers, we are humans too. The pressures faced by gospel musicians, including the demanding schedules, the constant expectation to deliver uplifting content and the challenges of balancing personal and professional life is huge and we will always need your support and prayers,” she said.

Meanwhile, Mavis Asante, who has been off the music scene for a while, is preparing to make a comeback with a new single in October this year.

She also voiced concerns over the growing trend of indecent dressing within the gospel music industry.

In an impassioned plea, Mavis Asante, who is now a reverend minister, underscored the importance of modest dressing among gospel musicians, stressing that the essence of gospel music lies not only in its melodies and lyrics but also in how artistes portrayed themselves to the public.

“Gospel musicians are not just performers; they are spiritual messengers, a conduit for divine inspiration. And just as the message is sacred, so should the vessel delivering it.

Modesty in dressing is not about suppressing individuality, but ensuring that our outward appearance is a reflection of the reverence and humility we hold for the message we convey,” she said.
