The Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ebenezer Kojo Kum, is not dead, a family source has confirmed.

News of the death of the Member of Parliament for Ahanta West in the Western Region went viral in the wee hours of the night of Tuesday, 8 March 2022.

But allaying the fears of constituents and well-wishers, the family of the parliamentarian says he is hale and hearty.

Social media platforms were flooded by the false news, which the MP’s family has dispelled.

A brother to the MP, Nana Mensah Kumah III, denied reports that his kinsman had passed on.

“My brother is not dead; he is alive. I can confirm my brother has been sick and was admitted, but he has been discharged and receiving treatment at home,” he explained.

Unconfirmed sources say the MP has been battling a stroke.

Kumah III asked for prayers for his brother to get well and cautioned those spreading such falsehood to desist from it.
