Akuapem South MP, Osei Bonsu Amoah, popularly known as O.B. Amoah, has officially withdrawn from the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary race.

O.B. Amoah, who had initially expressed reluctance to seek a fourth term, later had a change of heart and picked up nomination forms for the Akuapem South constituency.

However, in a recent letter addressed to the party officials, he announced his decision to step back from the race.

The withdrawal leaves other notable aspirants in the primary, including Kwame Ofori-Gyau, Eric Samuel Annor-Mensah, and Frank Aidoo, the Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapem South.

In his letter, O.B. Amoah stated, “I write to inform you that I have decided to withdraw as a candidate for the election of a Parliamentary Candidate for the General Elections in 2024 in the Akuapem South constituency. I respectfully request that under the Public Elections Regulations, 2016, C.I. 94, my name should be deleted from the ballot paper for the election. I am most grateful and count on your cooperation.”

Meanwhile, the NPP parliamentary race has been scheduled for Saturday, January 27.

Below is a statement to that effect.
