An unidentified man believed to be in his 70s has been found dead along the Mankessim to Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region.

The old man was found on Wednesday morning by some residents of Volta Bar, a suburb of Mankessim

According to residents, they woke up Wednesday morning only to see the lifeless body of the deceased at the roadside.

Some residents disclosed that they had some encounters with the yet-to-be-identified man days ago but all attempts to locate his house proved futile as he (the deceased) failed to answer their questions

According to them, they saw the deceased early on, even on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, and he looked very sick, but they found him dead the next day.

Meanwhile, the Assembly Member for New Nkusukum Electoral Area, Hon. Ali Abubakari Amoah, has indicated that police assistance is being sought to find the family of the deceased.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Saltpond Government Hospital Mortuary for autopsy, preservation, and identification.

Assembly Member for Atwima Takyiman-Denkyemuoso Electoral Area, David Asare, said an examination by a pathologist at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Dr Sampane, revealed that the deceased was allegedly attacked with sharp weapons.

The attack, according to the pathologist, led to the death of the deceased.

Also, on October 6, 2023, the decomposed body of an unknown female was found near the sacred River Subin in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.

The body was reportedly found around 2:05 p.m. in a rotten state, so it was impossible to identify the deceased person.

What led to the unfortunate demise of the deceased was not readily known, but the state in which the body was found suggested foul play.
