Our President does not respect the rule of law; he’s a tyrant – Sam George

Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George has described President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as tyrant.

Reacting to government’s white paper on the Justice Emile Short Commission of enquiry report, Sam George said “I am afraid for what lies ahead for the Ghanaian people because our president does not respect the rule of law; he’s a tyrant.”

The Emile Short Commission, which was tasked to probe the electoral violence at the Ayawaso West-Waguon by-election earlier this year, recommended the criminal prosecution of a National Security Operative; Mohammed Sulemana, who slapped Sam George in a verbal argument.

But a White Paper from the Presidency on the commission’s report argued that, prosecution of the National Security Operative was not necessary because, the facts presented by the Commission supported “a valid defence of provocation for the said assault by the National Security Operative.”

Speaking on Neat FM ‘s ‘Me Man Nti’, Sam George quoted Psalm 109:8b, saying he could only resort to scripture and pray for President Akufo-Addo.
