This was made possible through the benevolent gesture of Richard K. Atikpo, the founder of the R.K. Atikpo Foundation and representative of the Oti Region on the Council of State.

Mr Atikpo, known for many philanthropic initiatives, partnered with GIZ & Magdeburg – Germany and the Networking for Hope to procure the items from Germany and ship them to Ghana.

The hospital and medical equipment are scheduled to be distributed to health facilities and hospitals in the nine districts of the Oti Region.

In cooperation with partners from Germany, a workshop was held on ultrasound examination in emergency medicine for some health officials in Ghana.

In addition to the theoretical knowledge, practical exercises were conducted with patients.

The doctors and nurses from the hospitals in Jasikan and Nkwanta, who participated, were also equipped with new ultrasound devices.

A supplementary workshop annual exchange is also in the offing.

The aim is to establish close connections with colleagues in Germany and to ensure a lasting improvement in the clinical situation in the Oti Region.

The Project Manager, Reginald Seth Dogbey, assured the people of the Oti Region of the commitment of Council of State Member Mr Atikpo and his partners to work and support health institutions to improve healthcare delivery.

He said the foundation was working to improve education, youth development, women empowerment and sanitation.

The Medical Superintendent of the Jasikan Government Hospital, Dr Fidelis Attia, on behalf of the health institutions in the region, expressed appreciation for the donations and prayed for more support in the future.
