Rape suspect in Ghana National College case to be arraigned

Fredrick Ayisi, the suspect in the alleged rape case at the Ghana National College is expected to be arraigned Friday

Fredrick, a Form three student, who is the stepson of the MP for Cape Coast North and Deputy Works and Housing Minister, Barbara Ayisi, was accused of raping a form 1 student in the school.

According to the police, the suspect lured his victim to his house and forcibly had sex with her.

PRO of the Central Regional Police Command, DSP Irene Oppong, told Citi FM, “The case was reported by the management of the school on 24th February 2020 and the accused was arrested on the same day.”

“Medical forms were released by the police to the victim to be taken to the hospital and the management of the school were advised to take the victim through counselling. The suspect was sent to Cape Coast District Court 2 on 27th February 2020 but the court did not sit. He has been brought back to be sent tomorrow [February 28]”.
