A woman has reportedly died and two others have sustained injuries following an accident that occurred at Begoro in the Eastern region.
The unfortunate incident happened on Saturday, November 18 at 6 pm.
The accident occurred when a tricycle, with registration number M-22-GS 9357, collided head-on with a Rhino vehicle with registration number GR 6413-19.
The collision led to a devastating outcome as a woman only identified as Pat, in the tricycle, succumbed to fatal injuries after being run over by the Rhino vehicle.
It took personnel from the Ghana Police Service, NADMO and the Ghana National Fire Service a couple of minutes to retrieve her body which was trapped under the truck.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the morgue pending further police action.
The tricycle’s rider and another passenger who sustained injuries were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
This incident adds to a series of recent road accidents in Ghana, emphasizing the urgent need for enhanced road safety measures.
