Thomas Partey demanding to part ways with Arsenal in January – Reports

Ghana midfielder, Thomas Partey has informed Arsenal that he wants to leave the club in January amid interest from Juventus. 

The 30-year-old was closely linked with a move away from north London during the summer window and was sought after by Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli and the Italian giants.

Despite their desire to sign the former Atletico Madrid star, Partey remained at Arsenal for the start of the season but has since struggled for consistent game time due to injuries.

Partey has dealt with multiple injuries since the season opener and his place within the Arsenal squad could soon be available amid suggestions he will leave.

According to an Italian portal Tutto Mercato, Partey has already informed the Gunners over his desire to leave the club during the January transfer window.

The report added that Juventus are the front-runners to sign Partey, given their need for a defensive midfielder.

However, it’s also reported that Partey will hold out for more options – preferably in the Premier League or LaLiga – before making a decision.

Last month, Arteta admitted that Partey’s fitness is a ‘big concern’ after reports claimed the midfielder could be out until December.

The Ghanaian missed just seven games in five years at Atletico Madrid but has been plagued with issues since joining Arsenal in 2020.

Partey’s last appearance for the Gunners came as a substitute in the 1-0 win over Manchester City last month.

He suffered another setback in training prior to Arsenal’s victory away at Sevilla in the Champions League.

Thomas Partey is expected to miss Ghana’s opening games of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros later this month.
