Video of chief allegedly slaughtering human false – Police

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has asked the general public to disregard a viral video in which the Chief of Hemang, Nana Appau Sanwansa was allegedly seen sacrificing what looks like a human being to pacify some gods in the area.

A voice could be heard in the video claiming the chief was slaughtering a human being to pacify the gods of the town.

But police say after analyzing the content of the video, they came to the conclusion that it was a ram that was being killed.

In a release signed by Ashanti Regional Public Affairs Officer, ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the police say the woman who was heard in the video alleging a human being was slaughtered, is currently being interrogated.

“The Ashanti Regional Police Command has intercepted a video which is circulating on social media and being discussed on traditional media of a woman who is heard alleging that the Chief of Hemang in the Ashanti Region, Nana Appau Ababio Sanwansa was slaughtering a human being for sacrifice.”

“The Regional Command has checked and cross-checked the video and realized that it was not a human being but rather a ram that was slaughtered. Therefore the video should be disregarded. Meanwhile, the woman who was heard in the video alleging a human being was slaughtered is being questioned by the Police,” the statement added.
