A woman has bolted with three of her children after she reportedly killed her husband with a pestle in Logre in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region.
Bogpoka Banga allegedly killed 39-year-old Agyei Abanga, in their bedroom on April 15, 2023.
Bawa Dagal-Kurug, head of the bereaved family, narrating the incident said the deceased’s body was found by family members after they were alerted by his first child.
The girl who managed to escape from her mother informed her grandmother that the mother hit her father with an object, locked him up, and asked them to leave for Walewale.
“He lives in his house with his wife alone, though he used to live in the extended family with us. He still has a room here. His name is Agyei, a contractor. He has four kids; the eldest among them came to the extended family to report that their mother woke them up early at dawn with them (the kids).
“The kid told her grandmother that she has seen the mother lock up their father in a room, with blood all over the place,” Mr. Dagal-Kurug said.
However, he said every effort by the family to find the suspect is yet to yield results.
Meanwhile, Inspector Amado Zakaria, the police commander of Nabdam district said the police are working with the family to ensure the alleged culprit is arrested.
He assured them that she will be made to face justice when found.
