Recently award-winning producer and past returnee, Esi Yamoah, will host her 1st Ghana’s Creative Community Network event. Local creative Ghanaians and the rest of the African Diaspora will have space to network. The event takes place on December 30th at De Youngster’s International School Ring Road Central branch in Accra, Ghana. The entry fee is 50 ghc.
“I started my professional career in the Ghanaian film and television industry and it’s important for me to give back to my community.” Yamoah says.
Yamoah focuses on building a stronger creative arts’ community within Ghana by focusing on providing more opportunities for Ghanaians and connecting within the African Diaspora to network, build and discuss Ghana’s creative future on the local and international scale.
Yamoah has guest speakers from Los Angeles and New York City as well as locally within Ghana. Guest speakers for the event include: Joshua Kissi, photographer and entrepreneur and co-founder of Street Etiquette; Kwaku O. Boateng, co-producer of the critically acclaimed and award-winning film, The Burial of Kojo; Mame Adjei, the runner-up in America’s Next Top Model cycle 22; Francis Y. Brown, Ghana’s first Animator Hub Creator; Nicole Amarteifio, television producer and creator of An African City; Prince Kojo-Hilton, the multi-talented award-winning artist; Alphonse Menyo, the award-winning actor of Gold Coast Lounge and Twins Don’t Beg, award-winning international photographers.
Yamoah expounds, “It’s important that during this time, we focus on how to build a stronger foundation for not just today but for generations to come.”
This year, Yamoah Entertainment, owned by Yamoah, has partnered with the nonprofit art African initiative, Visual Art Students Empowerment (VASEP) project. A part of the event’s proceeds will go towards purchasing art supplies for children to continue art education in Ghanaian schools. VASEP members will also perform a live art and show exhibit at the event on December 30. Founder of VASEP, Prince Kojo-Hilton, has been giving back to the community for 10 years.
“The kids are our future and it’s important we create a bright future for them.” Prince says.
