Ghanaian dancehall and reggae artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, professionally known as Shatta Wale, has penned a heartfelt message to Jamaican musician Adidja Azim Palmer a.k.a Vybz Kartel, who is serving life imprisonment at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre in Jamaica over a series of murder cases.

A report by Fox5NY indicates that the Jamaican musician arrested in 2011 is currently suffering from an autoimmune disease called Graves’ Disease for seven years, which, coupled with his two alleged heart conditions, has made his present situation “life-threatening”.

In praising the contribution of his colleague in the music industry globally, Shatta Wale said his melodies have the power to heal, inspire and transport people to places where their spirits could find solace.

His message on his Instagram reads;

Vybz Kartel was arrested in September 2011 for the murder of a Jamaican businessman Barrington Burton but was released on bail.

The same year, he was charged with the murder of another man, Clive Williams, and was found guilty on March 13, 2014, after a 65-day trial and is currently serving his life imprisonment term.

Vybz Kartel is known for songs like Fever, Summer Time, Romping Shop, Wine To The Top, Thank You Jah, Unstoppable, Happy Pum Pum and Bicycle Ride.
