2023 Africa Cup of Nations: Nigeria coach names provisional squad
The provisional Nigeria squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has been leaked to the public, revealing that head coach Jose Peseiro has listed 40 players, as reported by ACL Sports.
Among the notable additions are goalkeepers Stanley Nwabili, Christian Nwoke, and Alhassan Yusuf.
The Super Eagles boss faces the challenging task of trimming down the squad to 27 players by January 3, 2024, as the Super Eagles prepare for the upcoming tournament. In Group A, they are set to compete against hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau.
The tournament journey for the three-time champions begins with an opening fixture against Equatorial Guinea at the Alhassan Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on January 14.
