Accra Lions gaffer Ibrahim Tanko reacts after first-ever win over Hearts of Oak
Head coach of Accra Lions, Ibrahim Tanko has commended his players for their 1-0 win over Hearts of Oak on Wednesday afternoon.
The capital-based club beat their neighbours at the Accra Sports Stadium today in a Week 28 encounter of the Ghana Premier League season.
The victory is the first for Accra Lions over the Ghanaian giants in any competitive meeting.
Speaking to StarTimes after the game, coach Ibrahim Tanko praised his players for the impressive performance for the three points.
“The boys did well from the first half. Before the game I said there is always a first time and the way we are playing this season definitely, we can beat any team. So I congratulate the boys.
“The premier league is not easy but I think this year the boys are doing well and I commend them,” coach Ibrahim Tanko said.
After the win over Hearts of Oak, Accra Lions have now climbed to third on the Ghana Premier League table.
