Morocco has rejected Algiers’ accusations suggesting a planned “spoliation” of property belonging to it in Rabat, considering that they were “unfounded and part of a spirit of unjustified escalation”, declared Monday March 18, 2024, according to a Moroccan diplomatic source.
According to this source, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Morocco, as part of an expansion project, purchased the premises in 2022 from Algeria, after the move of the embassy left vacancy on the land of this representation, which is adjacent to the ministry’s offices.
The Moroccan response also rejected claims the Kingdom’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken similar steps with other foreign representations in the district to expand its premises.
This is to correct Algerian allegations that the Moroccan authorities have confiscated seats of Algerian diplomatic representations in Rabat. Nothing like that has happened, the Moroccan source stated.
