I have not been celebrated enough even though I was the first to do an international collabo – Tic Tac

Hiplife artist, TiC, formerly known as Tic Tac has urged Ghanaians to learn the act of appreciation and giving respect to people who have chalked successes in life.

The ‘Kwani Kwani’ singer in an interview with The Ghana Report (TGR) said, it is sad how people’s achievements in the Ghanaian Music Industry are brushed off at the least sight of new crop of artists.

Lamenting on how his achievements as the first Ghanaian artist to have done an international collaboration has not been celebrated enough, the “Fefe n’efe” singer said “In Ghana when new artists come out, it is amazing how the achievements of old artists are cancelled in a twinkle of an eye and that is not the best.

In America, people sing praises of fresh people but they do not cancel out the achievements of great people and that is the difference between the two societies.”

Commenting on Dancehall artist Shatta Wale’s feature on Beyoncé’s Lion King album, Tic said, “If Beyoncé had not been cherished until today, if Americans had cancelled her with Cardi B, she wouldn’t be here taking up new challenge of featuring African artists on her album,” he said.

According to him, it is imperative for the Ghanaian Music Industry to start appreciating and respecting the achievements of others.

“We should learn how to respect and preserve the achievements of others because greatness does not come in a day, it comes from maturity and hard work,” he noted.
