Kwabena Kwabena to play at launch of BLiS on Oct.7
Exactly a year ago, renowned Highlife artiste, Kwabena Kwabena was the main act who entertained guests at the official opening of Blackberry Lounge at Spintex-Lashibi area in Accra.
And few months down the line, the Aso hitmaker is returning to Blackberry Lounge by popular request as the headline artiste for the launch of Blackberry Live Saturdays (BLiS) to take place on Saturday, October 7 at 7:00p.m.
BLiS is a combined project between Kwabena Kwabena and management of BLiS geared at energising and stoking the interest of live band performances among patrons of Blackberry Lounge.
The initiative is commendable in these times when many social places such as bars and lounges have missed out on the “elements” of treating customers to quality music and providing great entertainment.
One of the main side attractions at the launch of BLiS will be the opportunity for guests to chat, take selfies and request their favourite Kwabena Kwabena songs to be performed.
BLiS is, therefore, intended to provide merrymakers with the right package to make their Saturday nights more fun.
The live band event will therefore feature an artiste weekly, who will be performing live as well.
Blackberry Lounge, the first of its kind at the Spintex-Lashibi area, is a modern garden-type restaurant, lounge, sports bar and event facility designed for young adults and adults who are typically corporate executives, employees of companies and business owners to relax, enjoy good music and food, as well as a variety of cocktails, mocktails and an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The launch of BLiS is expected to host about 500 customers, music enthusiasts and sponsoring firms.
Kwabena Kwabena, real name, George Kwabena Adu, shot to fame in 2004 when he recorded his debut ASO album.
In the almost two decades of his music career, Kwabena Kwabena has built a reputable image with a number of chart-topping songs such as Bue Kwan, Tuamudaa, Tokroo and Obaa.
His energetic live performances have equally been a plus to his career and he is expected to bring all that experience on board at the launch of BLiS.
