Police Inspector Arrested For Allegedly Shooting Girlfriend In Kumasi

A police officer, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his girlfriend in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The incident is reported to have occurred on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

According to the police, the suspect had been on the run since the shooting incident.

However, he was eventually apprehended at Sekyere, near Effiduase in the Ashanti Region, as a result of a special police operation.

The victim, Victoria Dapaa, also known as Maa Adwoa, was believed to be the girlfriend of the suspect. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.

Inspector Twumasi is currently in police custody and will be put before court to face justice.

The police have assured the public that they will conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that justice is served.
