We’ll construct 30 Smart Schools this year-Akufo-Addo

Source The Ghana Report

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revealed plans to construct at least thirty SMART schools across the country by the end of this year under the Ghana Smart Schools project.

The initiative aims to bolster senior high school education by providing teaching and learning management systems, digital learning content, and electronic devices to all senior high and TVET schools nationwide.

Aligned with the Ministry of Education’s digitalization agenda for pre-tertiary education, the project underscores the government’s commitment to leveraging technological advancements to equip Ghanaian students for the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.

Speaking at the official launch of the Ghana Smart Schools project in Accra,  President Akufo-Addo said these schools will be off the national electricity grid with digitalized infrastructure to advance teaching.

“The other component of the Ghana Smart Schools project is the provision of infrastructure. The government intends to build 100 Smart Schools across the country.

“The first thirty of these will be completed this year and the remaining seventy will be completed in the next two years.

“And for the avoidance of doubt, it is planned that the 100 Smart Schools will be located in the following cities and towns in all the 16 regions,” the President said.
