The Ghana U23 team has been drawn to compete in Group A of the 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations will be the 4th edition of the quadrennial African football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for its male national teams consisting of players under 23 years of age.
The draw for the tournament to be staged in Morocco next month was held on Friday, May 5.
At the end of the colourful draw, the Ghana U23 team has been pitted in Group A alongside the host nation, Morocco, Congo and Guinea.
The tournament will serve as a qualification competition for next year’s summer Olympic Games in Paris.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko is expected to name a strong squad for the competition as Ghana eyes a return to the Olympic Games which the team made its last appearance in 2004 in Athens.
