Ghana Football Association comes out clean in 2022 FIFA audit

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the successful completion of the FIFA Central Review for the accounting period spanning from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022.

This achievement marks the fourth consecutive positive review for the GFA since the current administration, led by Kurt Okraku, assumed office in 2019.

The GFA said a successful FIFA Audit holds immense significance for its developmental agenda, as failure to meet the requirements of the audit can result in severe repercussions from FIFA, including the withholding of project funds, programs, and FIFA Forward allocations.

For this year’s review, the GFA enlisted the services of global professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). The firm conducted a thorough examination of the GFA’s financial records, ensuring compliance with FIFA’s standards and regulations.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that the GFA also underwent a separate audit conducted by international audit firm BakerTilly Andah + Andah, which focused on the GFA’s compliance with Ghanaian law, FIFA regulations, and the GFA Statutes.

This audit covered the period from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022, and was completed in December 2022. The audit report has been submitted to FIFA and forms an integral part of the documentation presented at the GFA Congress.

The completion of the Statutory Audit by BakerTilly Andah + Andah fulfills the requirements outlined in Article 67 of the GFA Statutes, which governs the appointment of Independent and External Auditors.
