Ghanaian referees Rita Boateng and Emmanuel Dolagbanou gear up for 13th African Games

Ghanaian referees Rita Boateng and Emmanuel Dolagbanou have been selected among 48 African referees to officiate at the upcoming 13th African Games.

The tournament is set to showcase the continent’s top talent in various sports disciplines, including football.

Rita Boateng, serving as a centre referee, will play a crucial role in officiating the Women’s Football event, ensuring fair play and adherence to the game’s rules.

On the other hand, Emmanuel Dolagbanou will be contributing to the Men’s Football event as an assistant referee.

Both Boateng and Dolagbanou have undergone rigorous training and have demonstrated exceptional skills in refereeing, earning them the opportunity to represent Ghana on the international stage.

The continental multi-sport event held every four years, will be played at the Games village in Borteyman, the Accra Sports Stadium, the University of Ghana stadium, and the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.  The Black Satellites will represent Ghana in the Men’s Football competition, while the Black Princesses compete in the Women’s Football event.

The 13th African Games are scheduled from Friday, March 8 to Saturday, March 23, 2024.
