Golf for Disabled hosts event at PGA Tour tournament

The Golf for the Disabled Tour will host an event at a PGA Tour tournament for the first time in April.

The G4D event will be played in conjunction with the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in Texas on 29 and 30 April.

The top eight men and top two women in the world rankings will take part in a strokeplay competition.

American Chris Biggins, ranked third in the world, said it will be a “dream come true”, adding: “The G4D Tour has already changed my life.”

He continued: “It has grown every year, and with this huge step, it will surely skyrocket some more. It will be a dream come true to play a G4D Tour event in front of a home crowd, alongside an event I have watched since I was a kid.”

The G4D Tour was set up in 2022 and its competitions are usually played alongside DP World Tour events, with this year’s tour consisting of nine tournaments in six different countries.

England’s Kipp Popert is world number one in the men’s rankings, with compatriot Michael Browne in seventh, while Ireland’s Brendan Lawlor is second.

Daphne van Houten of the Netherlands is the highest-ranked female player.
